  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley), optional
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, optional

  1. Preheat oven: 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch or 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice potatoes: Thinly slice (about ⅛-inch). Use mandoline for uniform slices.
  3. Mix cream: Whisk butter, cream, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer: Arrange potato slices in dish, overlapping. Pour cream mixture over each layer until finished.
  5. Add cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Add Parmesan if desired.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil, bake 30–35 minutes. Remove foil, bake 15–20 minutes more until golden and tender.
  7. Serve: Cool slightly, garnish with herbs, and enjoy.
