Ingredients

For Puff Pastry

  • ¾ cup (75 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (130 ml) water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3.5 tbsp (50 g) butter
  • 2 large eggs

For Custard Cream

  • 2 egg yolks
  • ¾ cup (200 ml) milk
  • ¼ cup (50 g) sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp butter

For Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions 👩‍🍳

  1. Make puff pastry: In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil. Add flour, stir until dough forms. Cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until smooth. Pipe or spoon onto baking sheet. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed. Cool completely.
  2. Prepare custard: Whisk yolks, sugar, and cornstarch. Heat milk until warm, then slowly whisk into yolk mixture. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. Cool.
  3. Whip cream: Beat heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  4. Assemble: Slice puff pastry shells. Fill with custard cream, then top with whipped cream. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
