Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ¼ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup caramelized onions
- 6 slices Swiss cheese
Directions
- Preheat oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- Mix meatloaf: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, soup mix, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape & bake: Transfer mixture to loaf pan. Shape evenly. Bake 45–50 minutes until cooked through.
- Top with onions & cheese: Remove from oven, spread caramelized onions over meatloaf, then layer Swiss cheese slices on top.
- Finish baking: Return to oven for 5–7 minutes until cheese melts and bubbles.
- Serve: Let rest 5 minutes before slicing. Enjoy warm.
