Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup chopped green bell pepper or scallions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 package puff pastry sheets (thawed)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: chopped parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook Filling: In a skillet, sauté onion, garlic, and bell pepper until soft. Add ground meat, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned. Let cool slightly.
- Mix in Cheese: Stir shredded cheese into cooled meat mixture.
- Assemble Pockets: Cut puff pastry into squares. Add 1–2 tbsp filling to center of each. Fold over and seal edges with a fork.
- Brush & Bake: Brush tops with beaten egg. Bake 18–22 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley or chives. Serve warm with dipping sauce or salad.
