Ingredients

- 1 egg
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Savory Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
- 1 small shallot or onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh thyme or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Make Dumpling Mixture: In a bowl, combine ground pork, garlic, green onions, parsley, thyme, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form Dumplings: Shape mixture into small balls (about 1 inch). Set aside on a tray.
- Sear Dumplings: In a skillet over medium heat, add a bit of oil. Sear dumplings on all sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Make Sauce: In same skillet, melt butter. Sauté shallot and garlic until fragrant. Add broth, cream, and mustard. Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Simmer Together: Return dumplings to skillet. Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes until cooked through and sauce is rich.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh herbs. Serve warm with cauliflower mash, sautéed greens, or enjoy on their own.
