Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1 cup sour cream or cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup chopped red bell pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp dried parsley or Italian herbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter or oil for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook Meat: In a skillet, sauté ground meat with onion and garlic until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Mix Base: In a large bowl, combine cooked rice, sour cream, half the cheddar and mozzarella, bell pepper, and herbs.
- Combine: Stir in cooked meat mixture. Mix well and spread evenly in baking dish.
- Top & Bake: Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Bake 20–25 min until bubbly and golden. Broil 2–3 min for extra crispiness.
