Ingredients
- Savoiardi (Ladyfingers)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp cornstarch (amido di mais)
- 400 ml milk
- 100 g dark chocolate, chopped
- 200 g sweetened whipped cream
- Milk chocolate (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare Custard: Whisk egg and sugar until creamy. Add cornstarch, mix smooth. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in dark chocolate until melted. Cool to room temperature.
- Prepare Layers: Line dish or glasses with Savoiardi. Dip lightly in milk if desired.
- Assemble: Spread chocolate custard over Savoiardi. Add whipped cream layer. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, ending with whipped cream.
- Garnish: Grate or shave milk chocolate over top.
- Chill: Refrigerate at least 4 hours (or overnight). Serve chilled.
