🥟 Pakistani Chicken Patties 🇵🇰

Ingredients
For the Filling
- 200 g boneless chicken, boiled and shredded
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3/4–1 cup milk
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp crushed black pepper
- 3/4 tsp red chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped
For the Pastry
- Puff pastry sheets, as required
- Sesame seeds (black and white)
- Egg wash: 1 egg whisked with 2 tbsp milk
Directions
- Prepare the Filling: Melt butter in a pan. Sauté onion until soft. Stir in flour and cook 1–2 minutes. Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth and thick. Add chicken, salt, black pepper, chili flakes, and white pepper. Mix well. Remove from heat and stir in coriander. Let cool.
- Assemble the Patties: Roll puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut into squares or circles. Place a spoonful of filling in the center. Fold over to form a sealed pocket (triangle or rectangle). Press edges with a fork.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place patties on parchment-lined tray. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Serve: Enjoy warm with chutney, ketchup, or tea!
