Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • Âľ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ÂĽ tsp almond extract (optional)
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Colored sprinkles or melted chocolate for decorating

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy (3–4 minutes).
  3. Beat in egg, vanilla, and almond extract (if using).
  4. Gradually add flour until dough forms. If too dry, add milk 1 tbsp at a time.
  5. Transfer dough to a piping bag with a large star tip. Pipe into shapes (rosettes, stars, etc.).
  6. Decorate with sprinkles or leave plain for dipping in chocolate later.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool completely before decorating with chocolate or extra sprinkles.
