Persian Rice with Nuts & Dried Fruits ๐๐ฐ๐
Fragrant basmati rice infused with saffron, toasted nuts, and sweet dried fruitsโan elegant and flavorful dish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 1/4 cup pistachios
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup dried apricots, chopped
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup orange zest
- 1/2 tsp saffron threads
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Salt to taste
Directions
- Rinse & soak: Rinse rice until water runs clear. Soak for 30 minutes.
- Cook rice: Boil in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Toast nuts: Melt butter in a large pan. Add almonds and pistachios, toast until golden.
- Add fruits & zest: Stir in raisins, apricots, cranberries, and orange zest. Cook until fragrant.
- Combine: Add cooked rice, saffron, cinnamon, and salt. Mix gently to combine.
- Steam: Cover and cook on low heat for 10 minutes to meld flavors.
- Serve: Fluff with a fork and enjoy warm.
