Tarte Tatin 🍎
Ingredients:
- 6 apples (preferably Golden or Granny Smith)
- 100g unsalted butter
- 150g sugar
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into thick wedges. Drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- In a non-stick ovenproof pan, melt the butter and add the sugar. Cook over medium heat until it turns a golden caramel color.
- Remove from heat and neatly arrange the apple slices on top of the caramel, rounded side down.
- Place the puff pastry over the apples, tucking the edges around the fruit.
- Prick the pastry with a fork and bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown.
- Allow to rest for 5 minutes, then carefully invert the tart onto a plate.
- Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
