These golden, flaky croissants filled with melted cheese and savory ham are the ultimate breakfast or brunch treat. So simple, yet absolutely irresistible when warm from the oven!

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of cheese (GruyΓ¨re, cheddar, or mozzarella)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
  • Chopped parsley or thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190Β°C (375Β°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 4 triangles.
  3. Place a slice of ham and cheese on the wider end of each triangle.
  4. Roll the triangles up tightly, starting from the wide end, to form croissants.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and milk together. Brush the tops of the croissants with the egg wash.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
  7. Sprinkle with a little black pepper and herbs before serving if desired.

  • Serve warm for the best melty texture.
