Ingredients:
- 2 thick-cut ribeye or strip steaks (about 1 ½ inch thick)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet (cast iron works best) over high heat until very hot.
- Sear the steaks for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked to your preferred doneness.
- Reduce heat to medium, add butter, garlic, and thyme/rosemary. Spoon the melted garlic butter over the steaks for extra flavor.
- Top the steaks with shredded cheese. Cover the skillet with a lid until the cheese melts.
- Transfer steaks to a plate, drizzle with extra garlic butter, and garnish with fresh parsley.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or garlic bread 🥔🥦🍞.
