These Strawberry Jam Filled Donut Pies are soft, sweet, and filled with a burst of fruity jam in every bite. Coated in cinnamon sugar, they taste like a mix between a donut and a hand pieβperfect for breakfast, dessert, or a sweet snack!
Ingredients
- 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade)
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam (or your favorite flavor)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pie crust and cut out circles using a round cookie cutter or glass.
- Place a small spoonful of strawberry jam in the center of half the circles.
- Cover with another circle of dough, sealing the edges with a fork. (Optional: cut a small hole in the top for a donut look.)
- Brush tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake for 18β20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While warm, brush with melted butter and roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
