🍫 Chocolate Frosting

Introduction

This creamy and rich chocolate frosting is perfect for cakes, cupcakes, cookies or any dessert you want to give a decadent chocolate touch. It’s smooth, fluffy and full of chocolate flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream (more if needed)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Add cocoa powder and powdered sugar gradually, beating on low until combined.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream, vanilla and salt. Beat on medium-high for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. If the frosting is too thick, add a little more cream; if too thin, add more powdered sugar.
  5. Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or store in the fridge up to 1 week.

Tips

  • For extra glossy frosting, use high quality cocoa or melted chocolate.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with milk but texture will be lighter.
