Slow-Cooked Pulled Pork with BBQ Sauce ๐๐ฅ

Ingredients
- 4โ5 lbs (2โ2.5 kg) pork shoulder (or pork butt)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (plus more for serving)
- 1 cup chicken broth (or water)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub this spice mix all over the pork shoulder.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the pork on all sides until golden brown.
- Place sliced onions and garlic at the bottom of a slow cooker (or baking dish if using oven).
- Set pork on top, then pour in broth and half of the BBQ sauce.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8โ10 hours (or HIGH for 5โ6 hours) until meat is tender and falls apart easily.
- Remove pork and shred it with two forks.
- Mix the shredded pork with the remaining BBQ sauce.
