Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef

- 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, onion, and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20β25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with the egg and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Assemble the lasagna in a baking dish:
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom.
- Add a layer of noodles.
- Spread ricotta mixture over noodles.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with sauce and mozzarella on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
