- 2 tbsp butter
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- ½ cup heavy cream (optional, for extra richness)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions 👩🍳
- Mix patties: In a bowl, combine beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into oval patties.
- Sear: Heat olive oil in skillet. Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Gravy base: In same skillet, melt butter. Sauté mushrooms and onion until golden.
- Thicken: Stir in flour, cook 1 minute. Slowly whisk in beef broth. Add Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
- Finish: Stir in cream if using. Return patties to skillet, spoon gravy over, and simmer 10 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve: Plate steaks with plenty of mushroom gravy. Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles.
