Ingredients
The Bread
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon zest (about 1 large lemon)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1½–2 cups fresh blueberries (tossed in 1 tbsp flour)
The Glaze
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Optional: extra lemon zest for garnish

- Preheat oven: 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
- Mix dry: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream butter & sugar: Beat softened butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in lemon zest and vanilla.
- Combine: Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing until smooth. Fold in blueberries gently.
- Bake: Pour batter into loaf pan. Bake 50–55 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool: Let bread cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to wire rack.
- Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bread and garnish with zest.
