Reuben Crescent Bake

Reuben Crescent Bake 🥩🥬🧀✨

A cozy twist on the classic Reuben sandwich—layers of beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and dressing wrapped in golden crescent roll dough. Perfect for family dinners or potlucks!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 1 lb cooked beef (sliced or shredded)
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1½ cups sauerkraut (drained well)
  • ½ cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)

Directions 👩‍🍳

  1. Preheat oven: 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare dough: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Layer filling: Spread beef evenly over dough. Top with Swiss cheese slices, sauerkraut, and drizzle with Thousand Island dressing.
  4. Top layer: Unroll second can of crescent roll dough and place over filling. Pinch edges to seal.
  5. Egg wash: Brush top with beaten egg. Sprinkle with caraway seeds if desired.
  6. Bake: Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Serve: Let cool slightly before slicing into squares. Enjoy warm.

Tips

  • Extra cheesy: Add shredded mozzarella or provolone between layers.
  • Variation: Use corned beef for a more traditional Reuben flavor.
  • Serving idea: Pair with a crisp dill pickle or side salad.
