Ingredients
- 4 large golden potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 cup heavy cream (or milk for lighter version)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley), optional
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Instructions 👩🍳
- Preheat oven: 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch or 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Slice potatoes: Thinly slice (about ⅛-inch). Use mandoline for uniform slices.
- Mix cream: Whisk butter, cream, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Layer: Arrange potato slices in dish, overlapping. Pour cream mixture over each layer until finished.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Add Parmesan if desired.
- Bake: Cover with foil, bake 30–35 minutes. Remove foil, bake 15–20 minutes more until golden and tender.
- Serve: Cool slightly, garnish with herbs, and enjoy.
