Ingredients
- 200 ml warm milk
- 200 ml warm water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 1 bag dry yeast
- 100 ml oil
- 100 g softened butter
- About 750 g flour
- 1 egg yolk (for brushing)
- Poppy seeds (for sprinkling)
Directions
- Activate yeast: Mix warm milk, warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Make dough: Add oil, butter, salt, and flour gradually. Knead until smooth and elastic.
- Rise: Cover bowl and let dough rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Shape: Divide dough into equal portions. Shape into rolls and place on a baking tray.
- Second rise: Cover and let rise another 20–30 minutes.
- Brush & sprinkle: Brush tops with egg yolk and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
- Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Enjoy warm, fluffy rolls straight from the oven.
