Ingredients

- 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) kidney beans, drained & rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) pinto beans, drained & rinsed
- 1 cup (250 ml) barbecue sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook beef: In a large skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Mix beans: Add baked beans, kidney beans, and pinto beans to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Season: Stir in barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Simmer: Reduce heat and let mixture simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld.
- Bake (optional): Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes for a deeper flavor.
- Serve: Enjoy hot with cornbread, rice, or crusty bread.
