Ingredients
For the Chicken Stew
- 7 pounds cut-up chicken pieces
- 4 cups chicken stock
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 2 bay leaves

For the Dumplings
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup milk

Instructions
- Cook Chicken: In a large pot, add chicken pieces, stock, onions, celery, carrots, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 45–60 minutes until chicken is tender.
- Remove & Shred: Take chicken out, shred meat, and discard bones. Return meat to pot.
- Make Dumpling Dough: In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter until dough forms.
- Cook Dumplings: Drop spoonfuls of dough into simmering stew. Cover and cook 15 minutes without lifting lid, until dumplings are fluffy.
- Serve: Ladle chicken, vegetables, broth, and dumplings into bowls. Enjoy warm.
