Ingredients
- 4 jalapeños, diced (remove seeds for less heat)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 lb chicken breast, cooked and shredded
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (optional)
- Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Sauté Aromatics: Heat a little oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and jalapeños. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add Broth & Chicken: Pour in chicken broth and add shredded chicken. Simmer gently.
- Make it Creamy: Stir in softened cream cheese and heavy cream until smooth.
- Cheesy Boost: Add shredded cheddar if desired. Stir until melted.
- Season: Taste and adjust with salt and pepper. Simmer 5–10 minutes.
- Serve: Garnish with bacon, cheese, and cilantro. Serve hot with bread or tortilla chips.
