A comforting casserole with savory ground beef, creamy soups, rice, and melted cheese baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook Beef: In a large oven-safe skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add Seasoning: Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix Base: Add French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and uncooked rice. Stir until well combined.
  4. Simmer: Bring mixture to a gentle simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Bake: Cover skillet with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes, until rice is tender.
  6. Top with Cheese: Remove foil, sprinkle shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese over the top, and bake uncovered for 10 minutes until melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve: Garnish with parsley if desired and enjoy hot.
