Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup lime juice (about 2–3 limes)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

For the Tostadas

  • 8–10 corn tostada shells
  • 2 cups guacamole (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup sour cream or Mexican crema
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Directions

  1. Marinate the Beef: Mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Coat steak in marinade and refrigerate at least 1 hour (overnight for best flavor).
  2. Cook the Beef: Preheat grill or skillet to high heat. Cook steak 5–7 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness. Rest, then slice thinly against the grain.
  3. Assemble Tostadas: Place tostada shells on a platter. Top with carne asada slices, guacamole, and sour cream or crema. Add diced tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapeños if desired.
  4. Serve: Garnish with lime wedges and enjoy immediately.
