Sweet, salty, and irresistibly rich—these homemade toffee squares are pure comfort in every bite!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Extra sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prep the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Make the Toffee: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar and heavy cream, stirring until dissolved. Bring to a boil and simmer 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  3. Add Vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and ½ tsp sea salt.
  4. Pour: Spread the toffee mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  5. Top with Chocolate: Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee. Let melt, then spread into an even layer.
  6. Add Sea Salt: Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top.
  7. Chill: Refrigerate at least 2 hours until firm. Cut into squares and enjoy!
