Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (100 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1¾ cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (30 g) cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Optional: Granulated sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and mix well.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: Sift flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture until a soft dough forms.
  3. Chill: Shape dough into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Slice & Bake: Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Slice dough into ½-inch rounds, place on lined baking sheet, and bake 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.

Tip: Roll warm cookies in granulated sugar for a delicate sparkle and extra sweetness!
