Ingredients
For the Cookie Dough

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 2½ cups all-purpose flour

- ¼ tsp salt
- Red and green food coloring
Instructions
- Make Dough: Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture until combined.
- Add Color: Divide dough into portions. Knead in red and green food coloring until evenly distributed.
- Chill: Wrap dough portions in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 1 hour until firm.
- Shape & Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough to ¼ inch thick. Cut shapes with cookie cutters. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool: Let cookies cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Decorate (Optional): Once cooled, decorate with icing, sprinkles, or toppings of choice.
