Ingredients

For the Dumplings

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Savory Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 1 small shallot or onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh thyme or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make Dumpling Mixture: In a bowl, combine ground pork, garlic, green onions, parsley, thyme, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form Dumplings: Shape mixture into small balls (about 1 inch). Set aside on a tray.
  3. Sear Dumplings: In a skillet over medium heat, add a bit of oil. Sear dumplings on all sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Make Sauce: In same skillet, melt butter. Sauté shallot and garlic until fragrant. Add broth, cream, and mustard. Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Simmer Together: Return dumplings to skillet. Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes until cooked through and sauce is rich.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh herbs. Serve warm with cauliflower mash, sautéed greens, or enjoy on their own.
