🎄 Cream Cheese Christmas Cookies 🎁✨
Soft, buttery cookies with a hint of cream cheese and a snowy sugar coat—perfect for holiday trays!
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk, room temperature
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp fine sea salt
- 1½ cups (188 g) confectioners’ sugar, for rolling
Instructions
- Prepare Dough: Beat butter and cream cheese until smooth (2–3 min). Add granulated sugar; beat until fluffy (2 min). Mix in egg yolk and vanilla.
- Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients on low speed until soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
- Chill: Divide dough into two disks. Wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours until firm.
- Prepare Oven & Pans: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment. Place confectioners’ sugar in shallow bowl.
- Shape & Coat: Scoop 1 tbsp portions. Roll into balls, then coat generously in confectioners’ sugar. Space 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Bake: Bake 12–14 min until edges are set and tops crack. Centers should stay soft.
- Cool: Cool 5 min on sheet. Optionally roll again in sugar for extra snowy finish. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
