Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- 3 cups whole milk, warmed
- Ground cinnamon, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set oven to 325°F (165°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- Mix Custard: Whisk eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, and nutmeg until smooth.
- Add Milk: Slowly stir in warm milk while whisking continuously.
- Assemble: Pour mixture into pie dish. Sprinkle top with cinnamon.
- Water Bath: Place dish in a larger pan. Add hot water halfway up the sides.
- Bake: Bake 55–60 minutes until custard is set but slightly jiggly in center.
- Cool & Chill: Remove from oven and water bath. Cool on wire rack, then refrigerate until fully chilled.
