Rich, creamy, and spiced—this festive eggnog uses condensed milk for extra sweetness and smooth texture!

Ingredients

  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 (14 oz / 400 g) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups (480 ml) whole milk
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg (plus extra for garnish)

Optional Garnishes

  • Whipped cream
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Light dusting of nutmeg or cinnamon
  • Edible gold dust or star anise

Instructions

  1. Whisk Base: In a saucepan, whisk egg yolks and condensed milk until smooth.
  2. Add Liquids & Spices: Gradually whisk in milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until uniform.
  3. Gentle Simmer: Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, 8–10 minutes until mixture coats the back of a spoon (~160°F / 71°C). Do not boil.
  4. Cool & Set: Remove from heat. Press plastic wrap directly on surface. Cool 1 hour, then refrigerate at least 2 hours (overnight best).
  5. Serve:
    • Chilled: Pour into glasses. Top with whipped cream and nutmeg.
    • Warm: Reheat gently (do not boil). Serve in mugs with cinnamon stick stirrer.
