A tender, flavorful chuck roast cooked low and slow with a trio of seasoning packets and hearty vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 3–4 lb chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet Italian dressing mix
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4–6 medium potatoes, quartered (optional)
  • 4–5 medium carrots, peeled and cut into chunks (optional)
  • 1 medium onion, quartered (optional)

Directions

  1. Prepare the roast: Place chuck roast in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Mix seasonings: In a bowl, combine ranch, Italian, and gravy mixes. Whisk in beef broth and water until smooth.
  3. Pour over roast: Pour seasoning mixture evenly over the roast.
  4. Add vegetables (optional): Place potatoes, carrots, and onion around the roast if using.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 4–5 hours, until roast is tender and falls apart easily.
  6. Shred & serve: Remove roast, shred with two forks, and serve with vegetables. Drizzle with gravy from the slow cooker.
