Cream Cheese Banana Bread ππ§
This moist, rich banana bread with a creamy cheesecake layer in the middle is the ultimate comfort treat! Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an afternoon snack with coffee.
Ingredients:
For the Banana Bread:
- 2 to 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
For the Cream Cheese Filling:
- 1 package (8 oz / 225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 175Β°C (350Β°F). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir just until combined (donβt overmix). Fold in the walnuts if using.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until creamy and smooth.
- Pour half of the banana bread batter into the loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top, then pour the remaining batter over it.
- Use a knife to slightly swirl the layers together (optional).
- Bake for 55β65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Let the bread cool completely before slicing for the perfect texture.
