Ham and Cheese Croissants π₯π§
These golden, flaky croissants filled with melted cheese and savory ham are the ultimate breakfast or brunch treat. So simple, yet absolutely irresistible when warm from the oven!
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of cheese (Gruyère, cheddar, or mozzarella)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
- Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
- Chopped parsley or thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 190Β°C (375Β°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 4 triangles.
- Place a slice of ham and cheese on the wider end of each triangle.
- Roll the triangles up tightly, starting from the wide end, to form croissants.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and milk together. Brush the tops of the croissants with the egg wash.
- Bake for 18β22 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
- Sprinkle with a little black pepper and herbs before serving if desired.
Tips:
- For extra cheesy flavor, add a sprinkle of shredded cheese inside before rolling.
- Serve warm for the best melty texture.
