Ingredients:
- 8 oz dried chipped beef (sliced into small pieces)
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)

- 6–8 slices of toasted bread
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour and whisk continuously to form a smooth roux (about 1-2 minutes).
- Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens.
- Add the chipped beef pieces and stir to combine.
- Season with black pepper and garlic powder if desired.
- Toast your bread slices until golden.
- Spoon the creamy beef mixture generously over the toast and serve warm.
